Certified Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding Specialist and Indigenous Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding Counselor Care

Certified Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding Specialists and counselors provide education, information and support on breastfeeding, positioning, and latching techniques during the prenatal and postpartum stages. We support a normal and uncomplicated experience of lactation by supporting families with basic yet essential aspects of breastfeeding, including milk supply, expression, and milk storage. We support in managing common concerns with lactation such as, but not limited to: nipple pain, poor latch, or strategies for returning to work. Lastly, we work with your birth care and healthcare team ensuring comprehensive communication and community support to ensure your lactating experience is healthy and desirable!

*Please note that Certified Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding Specialist support/care is a stepping stone and entry level support/care to becoming a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) whom have many clinical hours and years experience. If medical, complex and/or out of scope issues arise or are present during our care, we offer support in connecting you to a lactation consultant (IBCLC) who has the clinical training and can further assist in your care.

We curate specialized herbal orders from our community apothecary. We make herbal: tinctures, glycerites, oxymels, syrups, tea blends, teas, sitz baths, bath tea blends, oils, and salves! All of our herbal magic is made from local ingredients and from 85% of locally grown, hand harvested, wildcrafted plants from our beloved homelands and farm. 

We occasionally have 1-2 loose herbs in bulk for purchasing.

We often engage in community through community/location based herbal medicine making workshops and herbal placticas, where we host community conversation about the medicinal plants and herbs that grow around us and how best to make them into medicine. Our workshops include, but are not limited to: medicinal plant tea making, salve making, herbal glycerite making, medicinal plant harvesting, and conversations on best and ethical harvesting, seed saving, and growing practices!

We often engage in community through our food as medicine workshop series where we host a conversation on using traditional foods from the fields, gardens, and harvested in our beloved homelands for community wellness. Our workshops can include but are not limited to: traditional food making demonstrations, recipe sharing, and best seed saving/growing practices for the foods we work with and grow! We also host workshops on the creation of our small apothecary/farm business.

We listen to the history of your ailments and use our holistic approach of understanding the body in its: mental, physical, socio-political, ancestral, and spiritual forms. We then offer education on how certain herbal/plant medicines and food remedies can be incorporated into your lifestyles. These consultations are individualized and tailored to your lifestyle, history, and health goals.
